Steps
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
- In the last 5 minutes of pasta cooking time, add the cauliflower florets to the boiling water with the pasta.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red chili flakes, sautéing until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Once the pasta and cauliflower are cooked, drain them, reserving about 1/2 cup of the pasta water.
- Add the drained pasta and cauliflower to the skillet with garlic. Toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water as needed to create a light sauce.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste, and stir in the chopped parsley.
- Serve hot, topped with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
