- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Nutritional yeast - 2 tablespoons (for a cheesy flavor)
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped (for garnish)
Steps
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and add the pasta. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.
- While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red chili flakes, sautéing for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the broccoli florets to the skillet and season with salt and black pepper. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the broccoli is tender but still vibrant green.
- Once the pasta is cooked, reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water, then drain the pasta and add it to the skillet with the broccoli.
- Pour in the reserved pasta water and lemon juice, tossing everything together over low heat for 1-2 minutes until well combined.
- Sprinkle nutritional yeast over the pasta and mix well. Adjust seasoning if necessary.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped parsley.
