Ingredients
- Halal ground beef - 400 grams
- Ciabatta bread - 100 grams, cubed
- Cherry tomatoes - 200 grams, halved
- Cucumber - 1 small, diced
- Red onion - 1/4, thinly sliced
- Fresh basil - 10 grams, chopped
- Olive oil - 30 ml
- Red wine vinegar - 15 ml
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Mozzarella cheese - 100 grams, sliced
- Burger buns - 2, toasted
Steps
- In a bowl, combine the cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, basil, olive oil, red wine vinegar, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Toss well and set aside to marinate for at least 10 minutes.
- While the salad is marinating, form the halal ground beef into two equal-sized patties, seasoning each with salt and black pepper.
- Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness.
- During the last 2 minutes of cooking, place a slice of mozzarella cheese on each patty to melt slightly.
- Once cooked, remove the patties from the heat and let them rest for a minute.
- To assemble, layer the toasted burger buns with the beef patties, then generously top with the marinated Panzanella salad mixture.
- Close the burgers with the top half of the buns and serve immediately.
