- Raisins - 50 grams
- Whole wheat flour - 50 grams
- Cocoa powder - 10 grams
- Brown sugar - 80 grams
- Maple syrup - 30 ml
- Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
- Nutmeg - 1/4 teaspoon
- Cloves - 1/4 teaspoon
- Salt - a pinch
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a small baking dish with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix the chopped almonds, walnuts, dried figs, dried apricots, and raisins.
- In a separate bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, cocoa powder, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
- Add the dry mixture to the bowl of nuts and fruits, stirring until well combined.
- Pour in the maple syrup and mix until the ingredients are well coated and form a sticky dough.
- Transfer the mixture into the lined baking dish, pressing it down firmly with a spatula to create an even layer.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges start to pull away from the pan and the top looks set.
- Allow the panforte to cool in the dish for 10 minutes before removing it and letting it cool completely on a wire rack.
- Once cooled, cut into small squares or wedges and serve.
