Ingredients

  • Almonds - 50g
  • Walnuts - 50g
  • Dried figs - 30g
  • Dried apricots - 30g
  • Honey - 50g
  • Sugar - 30g
  • Cocoa powder - 10g
  • Cinnamon - 1/2 tsp
  • Nutmeg - 1/4 tsp
  • All-purpose flour - 20g
  • Powdered sugar - for dusting

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 160°C (320°F) and line a small square baking dish (approximately 15cm x 15cm) with parchment paper.
  2. In a food processor, chop the almonds and walnuts coarsely. Set aside.
  3. Chop the dried figs and dried apricots into small pieces.
  4. In a saucepan over low heat, combine the honey and sugar, stirring until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is smooth.
  5. Add the cocoa powder, cinnamon, and nutmeg to the saucepan, stirring to combine.
  6. Remove the saucepan from heat and mix in the chopped nuts, dried fruits, and flour until well combined.
  7. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and press it down firmly to ensure even thickness.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes or until firm to the touch.
  9. Remove from the oven and allow to cool completely in the dish before lifting it out.
  10. Once cooled, dust the top with powdered sugar, slice into squares, and serve.
