Ingredients

  • Ground lamb - 400 grams
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Red onion - 1 small, finely chopped
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Fresh mint - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Ground cumin - 1 teaspoon
  • Ground coriander - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon (for cooking)
  • Burger buns - 2
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Cucumber - 1/2, sliced
  • Feta cheese - 50 grams, crumbled
  • Plain yogurt - 100 grams
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Dried oregano - 1/2 teaspoon

Steps

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground lamb, minced garlic, chopped red onion, parsley, mint, cumin, coriander, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each into a burger patty about 2 cm thick.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the lamb patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until they reach an internal temperature of 70°C.
  4. While the burgers are cooking, prepare the yogurt sauce by mixing plain yogurt, lemon juice, and dried oregano in a small bowl. Set aside.
  5. Toast the burger buns lightly on a separate pan or grill until golden brown.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing a lamb patty on each bun, then top with sliced tomatoes, cucumbers, crumbled feta cheese, and a generous dollop of the yogurt sauce.
  7. Serve immediately with your favorite side, such as a salad or roasted vegetables.
