  • Fresh basil leaves - 10 leaves
  • Balsamic vinegar - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix warm water with active dry yeast and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine whole wheat flour and salt. Create a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture and olive oil.
  3. Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 20 minutes.
  5. Preheat the oven to 250°C (482°F) and place a pizza stone or baking tray inside to heat.
  6. Once the dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness, about 10-12 inches in diameter.
  7. Transfer the rolled dough to a piece of parchment paper for easy handling.
  8. Spread the diced fresh tomatoes evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
