Ingredients
- Lasagna sheets - 200 grams
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Canned crushed tomatoes - 400 grams
- Fresh basil - 10 grams, chopped
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Ricotta cheese - 250 grams
- Mozzarella cheese - 150 grams, shredded
- Parmesan cheese - 50 grams, grated
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a medium saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.
- Add the crushed tomatoes, chopped basil, salt, and black pepper to the saucepan. Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese with a pinch of salt and black pepper. Set aside.
- Spread a thin layer of the tomato sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
- Place a layer of lasagna sheets over the sauce, followed by half of the ricotta mixture, a third of the mozzarella, and a layer of tomato sauce. Repeat the layers, finishing with a layer of lasagna sheets, the remaining tomato sauce, and the remaining mozzarella and grated Parmesan on top.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let the lasagna cool for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve hot.
