  • Fresh basil - a handful

Steps

  1. Wash the asparagus and trim the tough ends.
  2. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and blanch the asparagus for 2-3 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.
  3. Remove the asparagus and immediately transfer it to a bowl of ice water to stop cooking.
  4. Once cooled, drain and pat dry the asparagus.
