- Ground chicken - 400 grams
- Fresh basil - 30 grams, chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Parmesan cheese - 30 grams, grated
- Whole wheat burger buns - 2
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Pesto - 2 tablespoons
- Lettuce leaves - 2
- Tomato - 1, sliced
- Red onion - 1/4, thinly sliced
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, chopped basil, minced garlic, grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Form the chicken mixture into 2 equal patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the chicken patties and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 75°C).
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the whole wheat buns by toasting them lightly.
- Spread 1 tablespoon of pesto on each bottom half of the toasted buns.
- Place a lettuce leaf on each bun, followed by a cooked chicken patty, a slice of tomato, and a few rings of red onion.
- Top with the other half of the bun, serve warm, and enjoy your Hamburger di Pollo!
