Ingredients

  • Ground chicken - 400 grams
  • Fresh basil - 30 grams, chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Parmesan cheese - 30 grams, grated
  • Whole wheat burger buns - 2
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Pesto - 2 tablespoons
  • Lettuce leaves - 2
  • Tomato - 1, sliced
  • Red onion - 1/4, thinly sliced

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, chopped basil, minced garlic, grated Parmesan cheese, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. Form the chicken mixture into 2 equal patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the chicken patties and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 75°C).
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare the whole wheat buns by toasting them lightly.
  5. Spread 1 tablespoon of pesto on each bottom half of the toasted buns.
  6. Place a lettuce leaf on each bun, followed by a cooked chicken patty, a slice of tomato, and a few rings of red onion.
  7. Top with the other half of the bun, serve warm, and enjoy your Hamburger di Pollo!
