Ingredients
- Octopus - 500 grams
- Olive oil - 60 ml
- Lemon juice - 30 ml
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Fresh oregano - 1 tablespoon, chopped
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Red pepper flakes - 1/4 teaspoon (optional)
- Mixed salad greens - 100 grams
Steps
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the octopus and cook for about 30 minutes until tender. Remove from water and let it cool.
- In a bowl, mix olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, parsley, oregano, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes to create a marinade.
- Once the octopus has cooled, cut it into manageable pieces (tentacles and body). Marinate the octopus in the mixture for at least 15 minutes.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill the octopus for about 3-4 minutes on each side until you see nice char marks.
- While the octopus is grilling, prepare a salad with mixed greens, drizzled with olive oil and a squeeze of lemon.
- Serve the grilled octopus hot alongside the herb salad, garnished with extra parsley if desired.
