Ingredients

  • Octopus - 500 grams
  • Olive oil - 60 ml
  • Lemon juice - 30 ml
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Fresh oregano - 1 tablespoon, chopped
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Red pepper flakes - 1/4 teaspoon (optional)
  • Mixed salad greens - 100 grams

Steps

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the octopus and cook for about 30 minutes until tender. Remove from water and let it cool.
  2. In a bowl, mix olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, parsley, oregano, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes to create a marinade.
  3. Once the octopus has cooled, cut it into manageable pieces (tentacles and body). Marinate the octopus in the mixture for at least 15 minutes.
  4. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Grill the octopus for about 3-4 minutes on each side until you see nice char marks.
  5. While the octopus is grilling, prepare a salad with mixed greens, drizzled with olive oil and a squeeze of lemon.
  6. Serve the grilled octopus hot alongside the herb salad, garnished with extra parsley if desired.
