Ingredients
- Ricotta cheese - 250 grams
- All-purpose flour - 100 grams
- Egg - 1 large
- Grated Parmesan cheese - 50 grams
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Butter - 50 grams
- Fresh sage leaves - 10 grams
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, flour, egg, grated Parmesan, salt, and black pepper. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- On a floured surface, divide the dough into four pieces. Roll each piece into a long rope, about 1.5 cm thick.
- Cut the ropes into 2 cm pieces to form the gnocchi. Optionally, use a fork to create ridges on each piece.
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Carefully drop the gnocchi into the boiling water and cook until they float to the surface, about 2-3 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside.
- In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the fresh sage leaves and cook until the butter is golden and the sage is crispy.
- Add the cooked gnocchi to the skillet and toss gently to coat in the sage butter. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes.
- Serve hot, garnished with extra grated Parmesan if desired.
