- Fusilli pasta - 200 grams

- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Lemon juice - 60 ml (about 1 large lemon)
- Lemon zest - 1 teaspoon
- Nutritional yeast - 2 tablespoons
- Fresh basil - 10 grams, chopped
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Cherry tomatoes - 100 grams, halved
Steps
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the fusilli pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
- While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the lemon juice and lemon zest to the skillet, stirring well to combine, and let it simmer for 2 minutes.
- Once the pasta is cooked, reserve about 1/2 cup of the cooking water, then drain the pasta and add it directly to the skillet with the lemon sauce.
- Toss the pasta in the sauce, adding reserved pasta water as needed to reach desired consistency.
- Stir in the nutritional yeast, chopped basil, salt, and black pepper, mixing well to coat the pasta.
- Add the halved cherry tomatoes and toss gently until everything is well combined and heated through.
- Serve immediately, garnished with additional basil if desired.
