- Active dry yeast - 7 grams
- Sea salt - 5 grams
- Olive oil - 30 ml (plus extra for drizzling)
- Fresh rosemary - 2 sprigs
- Coarse sea salt - for sprinkling
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast, and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large bowl, mix all-purpose flour and sea salt.
- Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour, and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the kneaded dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 220°C (425°F).
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer it to a greased baking sheet.
- Using your fingers, stretch and press the dough to fit the baking sheet, creating dimples across the surface.
- Drizzle a bit of olive oil on top, sprinkle with coarse sea salt, and scatter fresh rosemary leaves over the dough.
- Let the dough rest for another 20 minutes while the oven heats.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
