Ingredients
- Ground beef (kosher) - 300 grams
- Fresh basil - 10 grams
- Fresh oregano - 5 grams
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Arugula - 50 grams
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Balsamic reduction - 2 tablespoons
- Burger buns (kosher) - 2
- Parmesan cheese (optional, kosher) - 30 grams, shaved
Steps
- In a bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped basil, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
- Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape into patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.
- While the patties are cooking, slice the burger buns and toast them in a separate skillet or toaster until golden.
- Once the patties are cooked, place them on the bottom half of the toasted buns. Top each patty with fresh arugula, a slice of tomato, and shaved Parmesan cheese if using.
- Drizzle balsamic reduction over the toppings, then place the top half of the buns on each burger.
- Serve immediately with your choice of sides.
