- Fennel bulb - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Red pepper flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Burger buns - 2, halved
- Fresh arugula - 1 cup
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Mozzarella cheese - 2 slices

- In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of mozzarella cheese on each patty to melt.
- While the patties are cooking, toast the burger buns in a separate skillet or toaster until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a handful of fresh arugula, a slice of tomato, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze if desired. Top with the other half of the bun.
