- Parmesan cheese - 2 tablespoons, grated (optional)
Steps
- Rinse the green beans under cold water and trim the ends.
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and blanch the green beans for 2-3 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp.
- Drain the green beans and immediately transfer them to a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant and lightly golden, being careful not to burn it.
- Add the blanched green beans to the skillet, tossing to coat them in the garlic oil. Sauté for an additional 3-4 minutes.
- Season with salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Toss to combine and cook for another minute.
