Ingredients

  • Mixed mushrooms (such as cremini and shiitake) - 200g, sliced
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Parmesan cheese (optional, for serving) - 30g, grated

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Slice the baguette into 1 cm thick slices and arrange them on a baking sheet.
  3. Brush both sides of the baguette slices with olive oil and bake in the oven for 5-7 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
  4. While the bread is baking, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  5. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  6. Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 5-7 minutes until they're tender and browned.
  7. Stir in the chopped parsley and cook for an additional minute.
  8. Remove the toasted baguette slices from the oven and top each slice with the mushroom mixture.
  9. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese if desired, and serve warm.
