- Baguette - 1 small (about 200g)
- Ripe tomatoes - 2 medium (about 250g)
- Fresh basil leaves - 10g
- Extra virgin olive oil - 2 tablespoons (30ml)
- Garlic - 1 clove
- Sea salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Slice the baguette into 1 cm thick slices and arrange them on a baking sheet.
- Toast the bread in the preheated oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
- While the bread is toasting, chop the ripe tomatoes into small cubes and place them in a bowl.
- Finely chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the bowl with tomatoes.
- Minced the garlic clove and add it to the tomato mixture.
- Drizzle 1 tablespoon of olive oil over the tomato mixture and season with sea salt and black pepper to taste. Mix gently.
- Once the crostini are ready, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly.
- Top each slice of toasted bread with the tomato mixture and drizzle with the remaining olive oil before serving.
