- Baguette - 100 grams
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Mushrooms (mixed variety) - 150 grams, finely chopped
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Fresh parsley - 1 tablespoon, chopped
- Thyme - 1 teaspoon, fresh or dried
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Lemon juice - 1 teaspoon
- Parmesan cheese - 20 grams, grated (optional)
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- Slice the baguette into 1 cm thick pieces and arrange them on a baking sheet.
- Brush both sides of the baguette slices with olive oil and sprinkle lightly with salt.
- Toast the bread in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
- In a skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add the finely chopped mushrooms to the skillet and cook until they release their moisture and become golden, about 8-10 minutes.
- Stir in the chopped parsley, thyme, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice. Cook for another 2 minutes to combine the flavors.
- Remove the skillet from heat and let the mushroom mixture cool slightly.
- Spread the mushroom paté evenly over the toasted baguette slices. If desired, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top.
