Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F).
  2. Place the slices of whole grain bread on a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil.
  3. Toast the bread in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
  4. While the bread is toasting, cut the avocado in half, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh into a bowl.
  5. Mash the avocado with a fork and mix in lemon juice, sea salt, and black pepper to taste.
  6. Once the bread is toasted, spread the mashed avocado generously on top of each slice.
  7. Top each crostini with halved cherry tomatoes and fresh basil leaves.
