- Polenta - 100 grams
- Water - 500 ml
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Parmesan cheese - 30 grams, grated
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Italian seasoning - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
Steps
- In a medium saucepan, bring the water to a boil and add the salt.
- Gradually whisk in the polenta, stirring continuously to prevent lumps.
- Reduce the heat to low and cook the polenta for about 15-20 minutes, stirring frequently until thickened.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the olive oil, grated Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, black pepper, and mix well.
- Spread the cooked polenta into a greased baking dish, smoothing the top to about 1.5 cm thickness.
- Let the polenta cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes, then refrigerate for 1 hour to firm up.
- Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F).
- Once cooled, slice the polenta into fry shapes.
- Place the polenta fries on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, brush lightly with olive oil, and season with additional salt and pepper if desired.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden and crispy.
