- Lemon - 1, for juice
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
Steps
- Rinse the mussels under cold water, scrubbing the shells and removing any beards.
- In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the cleaned mussels to the pot, followed by the white wine. Stir gently to combine.
- Cover the pot with a lid and increase the heat to high. Steam the mussels for about 5-7 minutes, or until they open up.
- Once the mussels are cooked, remove from heat and stir in the chopped parsley, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper.
- Serve immediately in bowls with the cooking broth and crusty bread on the side.
