- Heavy cream - 200 ml

Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.
- Cut the cold butter into small cubes and add to the flour mixture; mix until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the warm milk and egg, then add to the flour mixture; knead until a dough forms.
- Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile, prepare the crema by whisking together the egg, cornstarch, sugar, and vanilla extract in a saucepan.
- Gradually add the heavy cream while whisking continuously, then cook over medium heat until thickened.
- Remove from heat and let the crema cool, then refrigerate until ready to use.
- Roll out the chilled dough into a large rectangle, then fold it into thirds like a letter and roll out again; repeat this process 2-3 times to create layers.
- Cut the dough into triangles and place a spoonful of crema at the wide end; roll them up into croissant shapes.
- Place the rolled cornetti on a baking tray lined with parchment paper and let them rise for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake the cornetti for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving, dusted with powdered sugar.
