Ingredients
- Horse meat (steak cuts) - 400 grams
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Red wine vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Fresh rosemary - 1 tablespoon, chopped
- Fresh thyme - 1 tablespoon, chopped
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Lemon - 1, juiced
Steps
- In a bowl, mix the olive oil, red wine vinegar, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, chopped thyme, salt, black pepper, and lemon juice to create a marinade.
- Place the horse meat in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over the meat, ensuring it's well coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably 2-4 hours for maximum flavor.
- Preheat your BBQ grill to medium-high heat.
- Remove the meat from the marinade and let it come to room temperature for about 10 minutes before grilling.
- Grill the horse meat for about 4-6 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer if you prefer it well done, making sure to baste with leftover marinade occasionally.
- Once cooked to your liking, remove the meat from the grill and let it rest for about 5 minutes before slicing.
- Serve with fresh vegetables or a side salad.
