Ingredients

  • Fresh mozzarella cheese - 200 grams
  • Ripe tomatoes - 2 medium (about 300 grams total)
  • Fresh basil leaves - 15 grams
  • Extra virgin olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Balsamic vinegar - 1 tablespoon
  • Sea salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Slice the fresh mozzarella cheese into 1 cm thick rounds.
  2. Wash the tomatoes and slice them into similar 1 cm thick rounds.
  3. On a serving platter, alternate layers of mozzarella and tomato slices, slightly overlapping each slice.
  4. Tuck fresh basil leaves between the layers.
  5. Drizzle the extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar evenly over the salad.
  6. Season with sea salt and freshly cracked black pepper to taste.
