  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Egg - 1 large (for egg wash)
  • Chopped pistachios - 20 grams (for garnish)
  • Orange zest - 1 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to about 2 mm thickness.
  3. Cut the pastry into triangles approximately 10 cm wide at the base.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and orange zest until smooth.
  5. Place a spoonful of the ricotta mixture at the base of each pastry triangle.
  6. Roll the pastry triangle over the filling towards the tip, forming a cone shape, and seal the edges.
  7. Beat the egg and brush it over the surface of each cannoncino for a golden finish.
  8. Place the filled cannoli on a lined baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly, then garnish with chopped pistachios before serving.
