  • Honey - 2 tablespoons
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Lemon zest - 1 teaspoon
  • Dark chocolate (70% cocoa) - 20 grams
  • Chopped nuts (almonds or pistachios) - 2 tablespoons
  • Powdered sugar - for dusting (optional)

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to about 3mm thick.
  3. Cut the pastry into strips about 5cm wide and 10cm long.

  5. Place the wrapped forms on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. While the pastry is baking, prepare the filling by mixing ricotta cheese, honey, vanilla extract, and lemon zest in a bowl until smooth.
  7. Once the pastry is baked and cooled, carefully remove the cannoli forms.
  8. Fill each cannolo with the ricotta mixture using a piping bag or spoon.
  9. Melt the dark chocolate in a microwave or double boiler, then drizzle over the filled cannoli.
  10. Sprinkle with chopped nuts and dust with powdered sugar, if desired. Serve immediately.
