- Cannelloni pasta - 8 tubes
- Ricotta cheese - 250 grams
- Fresh spinach - 150 grams
- Parmesan cheese (grated) - 50 grams
- Mozzarella cheese (shredded) - 100 grams
- Egg - 1 large
- Garlic - 1 clove (minced)
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Tomato sauce - 300 grams
- Nutmeg - a pinch
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add the fresh spinach to the skillet and cook until wilted, approximately 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and let it cool.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, cooked spinach, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, salt, black pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg. Mix until well combined.
- Using a spoon, carefully fill each cannelloni tube with the ricotta and spinach mixture.
- Spread half of the tomato sauce on the bottom of a baking dish. Arrange the filled cannelloni on top of the sauce.
- Pour the remaining tomato sauce over the cannelloni and sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
