  • Mozzarella cheese - 100 grams, shredded
  • Fresh basil - 5 leaves, chopped

  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until softened.
  3. Add the ground beef and ground pork to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Season with salt, pepper, and dried oregano.

  5. Fill each cannelloni tube with the meat mixture using a small spoon or piping bag.
  6. Spread a thin layer of the remaining tomato passata on the bottom of a baking dish.
  7. Arrange the stuffed cannelloni in the baking dish over the tomato passata.
  8. Pour the remaining tomato passata over the top of the cannelloni, then sprinkle with grated Parmesan and shredded mozzarella cheese.
  9. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  10. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  11. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with extra basil if desired.
