- Ground beef - 200 grams
- Ground pork - 100 grams
- Onion - 1 medium, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Tomato passata - 400 grams
- Parmesan cheese - 50 grams, grated
- Mozzarella cheese - 100 grams, shredded
- Fresh basil - 5 leaves, chopped
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sauté until softened.
- Add the ground beef and ground pork to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Season with salt, pepper, and dried oregano.
- Once the meat is cooked through, stir in half of the tomato passata and chopped basil. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Fill each cannelloni tube with the meat mixture using a small spoon or piping bag.
- Spread a thin layer of the remaining tomato passata on the bottom of a baking dish.
- Arrange the stuffed cannelloni in the baking dish over the tomato passata.
- Pour the remaining tomato passata over the top of the cannelloni, then sprinkle with grated Parmesan and shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let it cool for a few minutes before serving. Garnish with extra basil if desired.
