- Hot milk - 240 ml
- Sugar - 2 teaspoons
- Vanilla extract - 1/2 teaspoon
- Almond flour - 100 grams
- All-purpose flour - 50 grams
- Baking powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - a pinch
- Butter (melted) - 50 grams
- Egg - 1 large
- Sugar (for biscotti) - 50 grams
- Almonds (slivered) - 50 grams
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a bowl, mix almond flour, all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk together the melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
- Fold in the slivered almonds until evenly distributed.
- Shape the dough into a log about 20 cm long and 5 cm wide, then place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes.
- Once cooled, slice the log into 1 cm thick pieces and lay them flat on the baking sheet.
- Bake again for an additional 10 minutes or until the biscotti are crisp.
- While the biscotti are baking, brew the espresso and heat the milk until steaming but not boiling.
- Froth the milk using a frother or by shaking it in a jar until it’s light and airy.
- Pour the brewed espresso into a cup, add sugar to taste, then pour the frothed milk over it to create a layered effect.
- Serve the Caffè Latte with the freshly baked biscotti on the side.
