- Caciocavallo Podolico cheese - 200 grams
- Extra virgin olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Fresh rosemary - 1 teaspoon, chopped
- Fresh thyme - 1 teaspoon, chopped
- Black pepper - to taste
- Sea salt - a pinch
- Whole grain bread - 2 slices
Steps
- Preheat a grill pan or outdoor grill over medium heat.
- Slice the Caciocavallo Podolico cheese into 1 cm thick slices.
- Brush both sides of the cheese slices with extra virgin olive oil.
- Sprinkle chopped rosemary, thyme, black pepper, and a pinch of sea salt on one side of each cheese slice.
- Place the cheese slices on the grill and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden and slightly melted.
- While the cheese is grilling, toast the whole grain bread slices on the grill until crispy.
- Once the cheese is ready, remove it from the grill and let it rest for a minute.
- Serve the grilled Caciocavallo on the toasted bread, drizzled with a little more olive oil and garnished with additional herbs if desired.
