Ingredients
- Halal ground beef - 300 grams
- Caciocavallo cheese - 100 grams
- Burger buns - 2 pieces
- Roasted red peppers - 50 grams
- Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Fresh basil - a handful, chopped
- Lettuce - 2 leaves
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
Steps
- In a bowl, mix the ground beef with salt, black pepper, and chopped basil. Form into 2 equal patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness.
- During the last minute of cooking, place slices of Caciocavallo cheese on top of each patty and cover the skillet with a lid to melt the cheese.
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the roasted red pepper aioli by blending roasted red peppers, mayonnaise, and minced garlic in a small bowl until smooth.
- Toast the burger buns in the skillet for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading roasted red pepper aioli on the bottom half of each bun, adding a lettuce leaf, the cheesy beef patty, and tomato slices. Top with the other half of the bun.
