Ingredients

  • Halal ground beef - 300 grams
  • Caciocavallo cheese - 100 grams
  • Burger buns - 2 pieces
  • Roasted red peppers - 50 grams
  • Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Fresh basil - a handful, chopped
  • Lettuce - 2 leaves
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix the ground beef with salt, black pepper, and chopped basil. Form into 2 equal patties.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness.
  3. During the last minute of cooking, place slices of Caciocavallo cheese on top of each patty and cover the skillet with a lid to melt the cheese.
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare the roasted red pepper aioli by blending roasted red peppers, mayonnaise, and minced garlic in a small bowl until smooth.
  5. Toast the burger buns in the skillet for 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Assemble the burgers by spreading roasted red pepper aioli on the bottom half of each bun, adding a lettuce leaf, the cheesy beef patty, and tomato slices. Top with the other half of the bun.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy your Caciocavallo Burger!
