  • Crushed red pepper flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Chicken broth - 200 ml
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Parmesan cheese - 30 grams, grated (optional)

Steps

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the sliced Italian sausage and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Remove the sausage from the skillet and set it aside, leaving the drippings in the pan.
  4. In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Add the chopped cabbage to the skillet, stirring well to combine with the onion and garlic.
  6. Pour in the chicken broth and sprinkle with crushed red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.
  7. Cover the skillet and let it simmer for about 10-12 minutes, or until the cabbage is tender.
  8. Return the browned sausage to the skillet, stirring to combine, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.
