  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Red onion - 1/2, thinly sliced
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Balsamic glaze - for drizzling (optional)

Steps

  1. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium heat.
  2. Remove the casing from the Italian halal sausage and shape the meat into two patties.
  3. Season the patties with salt and black pepper on both sides.
  4. Cook the patties on the grill or skillet for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and browned.
  5. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of mozzarella cheese on each patty to melt.
  6. Meanwhile, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
  7. Assemble the burgers by placing the sausage patty with melted mozzarella on the bottom half of each bun.
