Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 400g
  • Salt - 1 tsp
  • Black pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • Garlic powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Olive oil - 1 tbsp
  • Button mushrooms - 200g, sliced
  • Butter - 1 tbsp
  • Fresh thyme - 1 tsp, chopped
  • Provolone cheese - 100g, sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves - for garnish

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until well combined and form into 2 equal-sized patties.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach the desired doneness.
  3. Meanwhile, in a separate skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and sauté until they are golden brown and tender, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add fresh thyme to the mushrooms and stir to combine. Remove from heat once cooked.
  5. Once the patties are cooked, place a slice of provolone cheese on top of each patty. Cover the skillet for 1-2 minutes until the cheese melts.
  6. To serve, place each burger on a plate, top with the sautéed mushrooms, and garnish with fresh basil leaves.
