- Halal ground beef - 400 grams
- Italian seasoning - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Canned crushed tomatoes - 200 grams
- Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
- Fresh basil leaves - 5 leaves
- Mozzarella cheese - 100 grams, sliced
- Burger buns - 2
- Fresh arugula - 1 cup
Steps
- In a bowl, combine the ground beef, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into 2 equal-sized patties, about 2 cm thick.
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- In the same skillet, add the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, and fresh basil. Simmer for about 5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- During the last minute of cooking, place the mozzarella slices on top of each patty, allowing them to melt.
- Toast the burger buns lightly in the skillet or on a grill.
- Assemble the burgers by placing the patties on the bottom half of the buns, spooning the pizzaiola sauce over the top, and adding a handful of fresh arugula.
- Cover with the top half of the buns and serve immediately.
