Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 400 grams
  • Fresh mozzarella cheese - 100 grams
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves - 10 leaves
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Balsamic vinegar - 1 tablespoon
  • Lettuce leaves - 4 large (for wrapping)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well incorporated.
  2. Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties, about 2 cm thick.
  3. Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
  4. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness.
  5. During the last minute of cooking, place the slices of fresh mozzarella on top of each patty and cover to melt.
  6. While the burgers are cooking, prepare the tomato slices and basil leaves.
  7. Once the cheese has melted, remove the patties from heat and let them rest for a minute.
  8. To assemble, place each patty on a lettuce leaf, top with sliced tomatoes, fresh basil, and drizzle with balsamic vinegar and remaining olive oil.
  9. Wrap the lettuce around the burger and serve immediately.
