- Ground beef - 400 grams
- Fresh mozzarella cheese - 100 grams
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Fresh basil leaves - 10 leaves
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Balsamic vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Lettuce leaves - 4 large (for wrapping)
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well incorporated.
- Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties, about 2 cm thick.
- Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
- Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness.
- During the last minute of cooking, place the slices of fresh mozzarella on top of each patty and cover to melt.
- While the burgers are cooking, prepare the tomato slices and basil leaves.
- Once the cheese has melted, remove the patties from heat and let them rest for a minute.
- To assemble, place each patty on a lettuce leaf, top with sliced tomatoes, fresh basil, and drizzle with balsamic vinegar and remaining olive oil.
- Wrap the lettuce around the burger and serve immediately.
