Ingredients
- Ground beef (80% lean) - 300 grams
- Red wine (Kosher) - 60 ml
- Fresh parsley, chopped - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic, minced - 1 clove
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Onion, thinly sliced - 1 medium
- Balsamic vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Burger buns (Kosher) - 2
- Sliced provolone cheese - 2 slices
- Arugula - 1 cup
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, red wine, chopped parsley, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until well combined, then form into two equal patties.
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring frequently, until they are caramelized and golden brown.
- Add the balsamic vinegar to the skillet with the onions and cook for an additional 2 minutes, then remove from heat.
- In the same skillet, increase the heat to medium-high and cook the beef patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired doneness.
- During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of provolone cheese on each patty and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.
- Toast the burger buns lightly in a separate pan or under a broiler until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by placing arugula on the bottom half of each bun, followed by the patty with melted cheese and a generous topping of caramelized onions. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
