Ingredients
- Ground beef (kosher) - 400 grams
- Breadcrumbs - 50 grams
- Egg - 1 large
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Canned crushed tomatoes - 400 grams
- Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
- Red wine (optional) - 50 ml
- Grated Parmesan cheese - 30 grams
- Crusty bread or rolls - 2 pieces
Steps
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties, about 2 cm thick. Set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for about 5 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through. Remove the patties from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, and red wine (if using). Bring to a simmer and let cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Return the patties to the skillet, spooning the sauce over them. Cover and let simmer for an additional 5 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
- Serve the burgers topped with grated Parmesan cheese and with crusty bread or rolls on the side to soak up the sauce.
