- Fresh mozzarella - 100 grams, sliced
- Burger buns - 2 pieces
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Arugula - 1 cup
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Balsamic glaze - 1 tablespoon (optional)
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with basil pesto, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until just combined.
- Divide the beef mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil.
- Cook the patties in the skillet for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness, or until they reach the desired temperature.
- During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of fresh mozzarella on each patty to melt.
- While the patties are cooking, toast the burger buns in a separate pan or under a broiler until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on each bun, followed by a handful of arugula, a slice of tomato, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze if desired.
