  • Fresh basil pesto - 4 tablespoons

  • Black pepper - ½ teaspoon
  • Garlic powder - ½ teaspoon
  • Fresh mozzarella - 100 grams, sliced
  • Burger buns - 2 pieces
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Arugula - 1 cup
  • Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
  • Balsamic glaze - 1 tablespoon (optional)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with basil pesto, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix gently until just combined.
  2. Divide the beef mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil.
  4. Cook the patties in the skillet for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness, or until they reach the desired temperature.
  5. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of fresh mozzarella on each patty to melt.
  6. While the patties are cooking, toast the burger buns in a separate pan or under a broiler until golden brown.
  7. Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on each bun, followed by a handful of arugula, a slice of tomato, and a drizzle of balsamic glaze if desired.
