Ingredients

  • Ground beef (lean) - 250 grams
  • Whole-grain burger buns - 2
  • Fresh basil - 10 grams (chopped)
  • Fresh parsley - 10 grams (chopped)
  • Garlic - 1 clove (minced)
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Tomato - 1 medium (sliced)
  • Arugula - 40 grams
  • Balsamic vinegar - 1 teaspoon

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, chopped basil, chopped parsley, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into 2 equal patties, about 125 grams each, and make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.
  3. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and brush with olive oil.
  4. Grill the beef patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness is reached (internal temperature should be at least 70°C for medium).
  5. While the burgers are grilling, toast the whole-grain buns on the grill for about 1-2 minutes until lightly golden.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing each patty on a bun, topping with fresh tomato slices, arugula, and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar.
  7. Serve immediately with your choice of side.
