Ingredients
- Ground beef (lean) - 250 grams
- Whole-grain burger buns - 2
- Fresh basil - 10 grams (chopped)
- Fresh parsley - 10 grams (chopped)
- Garlic - 1 clove (minced)
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Tomato - 1 medium (sliced)
- Arugula - 40 grams
- Balsamic vinegar - 1 teaspoon
Steps
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, chopped basil, chopped parsley, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until well combined.
- Form the mixture into 2 equal patties, about 125 grams each, and make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and brush with olive oil.
- Grill the beef patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until desired doneness is reached (internal temperature should be at least 70°C for medium).
- While the burgers are grilling, toast the whole-grain buns on the grill for about 1-2 minutes until lightly golden.
- Assemble the burgers by placing each patty on a bun, topping with fresh tomato slices, arugula, and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar.
- Serve immediately with your choice of side.
