- Horse meat (ground) - 300 grams
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Fresh oregano - 1 teaspoon, chopped
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Whole wheat burger buns - 2
- Fresh arugula - 1 cup
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Red onion - 1/2, thinly sliced
- Balsamic vinegar - 1 tablespoon
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground horse meat, minced garlic, chopped parsley, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Divide the mixture into two equal portions and form them into patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 70°C.
- While the patties are cooking, toast the whole wheat burger buns in a toaster or on a skillet until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers by placing the cooked patty on the bottom half of the bun. Top with fresh arugula, tomato slices, and red onion.
- Drizzle balsamic vinegar over the toppings and place the top half of the bun on the burger. Serve immediately.
