- Canned crushed tomatoes - 400 grams
- Vegan bacon or tempeh - 100 grams, diced
- Nutritional yeast - 2 tablespoons

Steps
- Cook the bucatini according to package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté for about 5 minutes until translucent.
- Add minced garlic, smoked paprika, and crushed red pepper flakes. Cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Stir in the diced vegan bacon or tempeh and cook for 5-7 minutes until it starts to brown slightly.
- Pour in the canned crushed tomatoes and mix well. Let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Once the sauce has thickened, add the cooked bucatini to the skillet along with reserved pasta water. Toss everything together until the pasta is well coated.
- Sprinkle nutritional yeast over the pasta and toss again to incorporate. Adjust seasoning as needed.
