Ingredients

  • Broccoli - 300 grams
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
  • Vegetable broth - 100 ml
  • Red pepper flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped

Steps

  1. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and blanch the broccoli florets for about 3 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  3. Add the vegetable broth and lemon juice to the skillet, and bring to a simmer. Stir in the red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Add the blanched broccoli to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the broccoli to absorb the sauce.
  5. Remove from heat, sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley, and serve warm.
