- Eggs - 2 large
- Unsalted butter (melted) - 50 grams
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Powdered sugar (for dusting) - to taste
Steps
- In a small bowl, dissolve the active dry yeast in warm milk and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, and salt.
- Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and add the frothy yeast mixture, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Mix the ingredients together until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap or a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- After the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 2 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a round ball and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Cover the shaped brioche with a kitchen towel and let them rise again for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Bake the brioche for 20-25 minutes until golden brown on top.
- Allow to cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
