Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 250 grams
  • Ground pork - 100 grams
  • Almond flour - 30 grams
  • Parmesan cheese (grated) - 30 grams
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
  • Onion (finely chopped) - 50 grams
  • Oregano (dried) - 1 teaspoon
  • Basil (dried) - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Crushed tomatoes (canned) - 200 grams
  • Red wine (optional) - 50 ml

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (390°F).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, almond flour, grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, chopped onion, egg, oregano, basil, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 4-5 cm in diameter.
  4. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and brown them on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. In the same skillet, add crushed tomatoes and red wine (if using). Stir well to combine and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Transfer the meatballs to a baking dish and pour the tomato sauce over them.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until the meatballs are cooked through.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese or fresh basil if desired.
