  • Beef flank steak - 300 grams, thinly sliced
  • Spinach - 50 grams, fresh
  • Ricotta cheese - 100 grams
  • Parmesan cheese - 30 grams, grated
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Italian seasoning - 1 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Tomato sauce - 200 grams, no added sugar
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. In a bowl, mix the ricotta cheese, grated Parmesan, minced garlic, and Italian seasoning. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Lay the thinly sliced beef flank steak on a clean surface. Season each slice with salt and pepper.
  4. Spread a layer of the ricotta mixture on each beef slice, then top with fresh spinach leaves.
  5. Roll each slice tightly from one end to the other, securing with toothpicks or kitchen twine.
  6. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sear the beef rolls for about 2-3 minutes on each side until browned.
  7. Remove the rolls from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, pour in the tomato sauce and bring to a simmer.
  8. Return the beef rolls to the skillet, cover, and let simmer for about 20-25 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  9. Once cooked, remove the rolls from the sauce and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
  10. Slice the rolls and serve them topped with the tomato sauce.
