Ingredients
- Ground halal beef - 300 grams
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Onion powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Balsamic vinegar - 100 ml
- Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Burger buns - 2 pieces
- Fresh mozzarella cheese - 100 grams
- Arugula - 30 grams
- Tomato - 1 medium, sliced
- Fresh basil leaves - a handful
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground halal beef with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently and form into 2 equal patties.
- Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness.
- While the patties are cooking, combine balsamic vinegar and brown sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat. Simmer until reduced by half and slightly thickened, about 5-7 minutes.
- Toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.
- Once the patties are cooked, place a slice of fresh mozzarella on each patty and cover the pan to melt the cheese for about 1 minute.
- Assemble the burgers by placing the cooked patties on the bottom half of the toasted buns. Top with arugula, sliced tomato, and fresh basil leaves.
- Drizzle the balsamic reduction over the top, then place the top half of the bun on each burger. Serve immediately.
