Ingredients
- Ground wild turkey - 300 grams
- Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
- Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
- Smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
- Ripe avocado - 1 medium, diced
- Cherry tomatoes - 100 grams, halved
- Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Lime juice - 1 tablespoon
- Lettuce leaves - 4 large, for wrapping
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground wild turkey, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into two equal-sized patties, about 1.5 cm thick.
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side until fully cooked through and nicely browned.
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the avocado salsa by combining the diced avocado, halved cherry tomatoes, chopped cilantro, and lime juice in a bowl. Gently mix to combine and season with a pinch of salt if desired.
- Once the turkey patties are cooked, remove them from the skillet and let them rest for a minute.
- To serve, place each turkey patty on a large lettuce leaf and top with a generous spoonful of avocado salsa. Wrap the lettuce around the burger and enjoy!
